1. About these terms

These terms cover The Spotlight at www.claimspotlight.com, including its product directory, community boards and account tools. “We”, “us” and “our” mean the operator of The Spotlight. The service is operated by The Spotlight. Contact us at mrearthguyscience@gmail.com.

Read these terms before creating or using an account or submitting content. If you do not agree, do not submit content or use account features. Our Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled.

2. Accounts and free listings

Browsing is public. You must sign in through ChatGPT to create or manage products and boards. Free listings do not involve a payment. You must meet the sign-in provider’s eligibility requirements and have authority to act for any organisation you represent.

Keep your sign-in secure, provide accurate information and do not impersonate another person or claim someone else’s listings. Earlier guest listings may be transferred to an account by a person who still has the browser credential associated with them.

3. Content you submit

You are responsible for your listing names, descriptions, author names, links, offers, videos and other submitted information. You must have the rights and permissions needed to publish that material. Keep claims accurate, identify material commercial relationships and honour offers you advertise.

You keep ownership of your content. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to host, reproduce, format and display it as reasonably needed to operate the directory, boards and any promotion you request. This does not give us ownership of your business or intellectual property.

You may edit or remove your own content through Manage my products. Removal from discovery does not automatically erase records retained for security, disputes, moderation or legal obligations.

4. Prohibited use

Do not submit sexual or pornographic content; illegal goods or services; material facilitating illegal activity; malware; phishing; scams; deceptive redirects; harassment; hateful abuse; or content that infringes another person’s privacy or intellectual property.

Do not send spam, create misleading duplicate listings, manipulate visit counts or rankings, interfere with the service, evade moderation, or access data and accounts without permission. These rules apply to linked destinations and embedded media as well as the listing itself.

5. Screening, reports and removal

Ordinary listings and boards publish after automated checks. These checks do not guarantee a destination is safe, accurate or lawful. Use Report listing to flag a problem. Administrators may investigate, restrict or remove content and block domains that breach these terms.

We may suspend access where reasonably necessary to address abuse, security risks or legal requirements. Where appropriate, we will give a reason and an opportunity to challenge a decision. Send questions and review requests to mrearthguyscience@gmail.com.

6. Live auctions coming soon

Public bidding and paid Spotlight promotions are not available yet. Current promotional information is an announcement of a planned feature, not an offer of a paid placement. You cannot buy a placement or incur a live auction charge through the current public service.

Before paid auctions open, we will provide the applicable pricing, eligibility, payment, cancellation, refund, placement and editing rules. You will need an account and must accept the relevant purchase terms before participating. We do not guarantee visits, sales or other commercial results.

7. External websites and media

Listings can link to independent websites and display media provided by YouTube or Vimeo. A listing is not an endorsement. External providers have their own terms and privacy practices. Any purchase from a listed business is between you and that business, unless we expressly state otherwise.

8. Availability and responsibility

We aim to keep the service useful and available, but cannot promise uninterrupted operation or that all user content is accurate. We may make reasonable changes, maintain the service or withdraw features. Keep your own copies of important submitted content.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Your statutory consumer rights remain unaffected. We remain responsible for our own obligations under applicable law; we do not take responsibility for the independent actions of listed businesses.

9. Changes and disputes

We will update the date when these terms change and provide appropriate notice of material changes. Changes will not retrospectively remove rights you already have. Please contact the operator first to try to resolve a concern. Applicable mandatory law and any consumer protections in your country of residence continue to apply.
